Hundreds gathered on the National Mall in front of the U.S. Capitol to call for freedom, women's rights, and regime change in Iran. The rally was organized by the Organization of Iranian American Communities (OIAC) and was inspired by Iranian dissident and politician Maryam Rajavi.

The event featured speeches from several prominent political figures, including former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, a current member of Congress from the Foreign Relations Committee, and a former member of Congress. All three openly called for regime change in Iran. The congressman from the Foreign Relations Committee specifically advocated for the toppling of the Iranian regime.

Rudy Giuliani alleged during his speech that Iran may have been involved in the assassination attempt on then-presidential candidate Donald J. Trump in Pennsylvania. Both Giuliani and the congressman made statements supporting a violent revolution against the Iranian regime.

The Iranian dissident group Mujahedin-e Khalq (MEK) also participated in the rally, promoting the vision of a democratic and secular Iran. Iranian dissident news networks were invited to cover the event and broadcast it live over the internet into Iran.

Speakers and attendees condemned the Iranian government’s human rights abuses, especially its treatment of women, and expressed strong solidarity with the ongoing struggle for freedom inside Iran.
